What is a HydroFacial & What Are the Benefits?
HydroFacials have become one of the most popular facial trends in the modern world, and it’s no wonder why. With gentle non-invasive treatment and no downtime but GREAT results, more and more people are turning to the HydroFacial as their primary functional, integrative facial skincare spa routine.
But why is the HydroFacial so popular?
HydroFacials have become the facial spa care routine of choice because they are non-invasive yet effective and can be used for almost any skin condition and on any type of skin. HydraFacial treatments are far less invasive than traditional facials such as chemical peels or laser resurfacing which leave your skin red and irritated for hours to days after treatment. Because of the noninvasiveness and effectiveness of the treatment, HydroFacials are a great choice for teens as well as adults.
What is a HydroFacial?
A HydraFacial is a facial treatment using a patented device to deliver exfoliation, cleansing, extraction, and hydration to the face. This system uses a vortex swirling action to deliver hydration and to remove dead skin, dirt, debris, and impurities while cleaning and soothing your skin.
A HydroFacial includes 4 facial treatments rolled into one session: cleansing and exfoliating, a gentle vacuum suction extraction, skin tightening and a hydrating serum. These steps are delivered using a specialised HydroFacial machine with 6 unique attachments. Unlike traditional facial treatments that can have different effects depending on your skin type, the HydroFacial provides consistent results and can be used on all skin types.
The cleansing, exfoliation, chemical peel, collagen building, and facial muscle relaxing provided by a HydroFacial helps treat many of the beauty issues individuals experience today, including large pores, wrinkles, breakouts, and thinning skin.
HydraFacial treatments are often used in conjunction with LED light therapy. Blue light can help with acne while red light can help reduce the visibility of wrinkles.
What Happens During a HydroFacial Treatment?
A HydroFacial treatment at The Blush Lab takes on average 80 minutes. During this time your skin is cleansed, steamed, exfoliated, masked, massaged and pampered with luxe professsional skincare while you relax on a warm bed in a comfortable, private room. If this is your first HydroFacial appointment, here’s what to expect:
1 – CLEANSING & EXFOLIATION
The first step during your HydroFacial is cleansing and exfoliation. Your face is double cleansed with soothing hot towels and steamed to open the pores to allow for deep cleansing.
2 – DEEP CLEANSE & EXTRACTION
The HydroFacial device uses a strong, painless vortex vacuum suction to remove blackheads and impurities from your pores, followed by a further cleanse with a galvanic skin cleansing tool.
3 – OXYGEN
The next part of the facial takes a powerful but gentle air compresser to infuse a powerful vitamin serum into the skin, boosting hydration and giving your skin a healthy glow.
4 - INFUSE & LIFT
A warm ultrasound mesotherapy treatment deeply infused the serum into the skin, and Radio Frequency skin tightening is performed around the eyes and mouth to firm and lift the skin.
5 – TREAT
A hydrating mask imparts powerful vitamins and peptides into the skin and is sealed in with the application of a powerful moisturiser, customised to suit your skin.
HydroFacials are gentle enough that you may complete other treatments during your visit, including dermaplaning, light skin peels and LED therapy.
How Often Should I Get a HydroFacial?
If you haven’t had a facial or hydra-care routine in the past, it can be beneficial to start with 2-4 HydroFacials a month for about 3 months. Once you’ve established a better baseline for facial skin health, you can benefit from a once-a-month appointment.
What are the Benefits of HydroFacials?
HydraFacials are a gentle yet effective alternative to harsher facial treatments. Here are some of the reasons people love this spa treatment:
Works on all skin types. Whether you have sensitive skin or acne, dry or oily skin, the HydraFacial will work for you.
Consistent outcomes. Since much of the treatment is controlled by the HydroFacial technology, you can achieve a consistently high-quality treatment every time.
No downtime. Another reason people love the HydroFacial is that there is no downtime. You can even apply makeup that same day if you’d like to—though most people enjoy the glow from the treatment too much to cover it up.
Immediate results. Because the treatment is noninvasive, you can see positive results right away. We even recommend it before weddings or events for a luminous, healthy glow.
